    Hi everybody

    We’re currently stuck with this question:
    The Welcome Mail cannot be sent without Double opt-in enabled in mailchimp checkbox options. We’ve embedded the mailchimp checkbox under our contactform, so users can get in contact and subscribe to our newsletter in one step.
    So when People send their contact mail and click the checkbox to subscribe we want the welcome mail to be sent directly without another confirmation.

    Is there any possibility to embed the checkbox and directly send the welcome mail without another confirmation (so to disable double opt in and still send the welcome mail) ?
    FYI: we’re working with WordPress and Contact Form 7.

    Hello Hanna,

    I have read your post multiple times, but would appreciate your patience while I ask you few questions to further understand what you are trying to achieve.

    The confirmation is sent only when “Double Opt-in” is enabled. Since you have already disabled it in order to enable the “welcome email” option, can you let me know the exact issue you are facing?

    i’ll try to explain it better:

    i added the checkbox to our contact 7 form.
    People who get in contact with us should have the possibility to subscribe as well.

    Right now that’s what i have:
    I set the double opt-in to yes – because otherwise the welcome-mail will not be sent automatically. My mailchimp subscription list has the auto-welcome-mail option enabled.
    but: the mail that is sent is not the welcome mail, its the subscription confirmation.
    THEN the entry is made to our subscription list.

    what i want to happen:
    i want people who enabled the subscription-checkbox to be in our subscription list (what actually works as well, when i set double opt-in to “no”) AND receive the welcome message.

    But i’ve tried to disable the double opt-in (so there’s no confirmation, but direct subscription to the newsletter) and the entry to our subscription list is done, but people won’t receive the welcome mail.

    to me that doesn’t make sense, that people are subscribed when i disabled the double opt in – but i can’t send them the welcome message. if i ask them again if they are really sure to subscribe i’m sure they wouldn’t click “yes subscribe me” again.

Also please select “Pre Sales” as the subject. Once I get your request I’ll ask you for some more details to debug this further.
