I’ve spent about 3 hours troubleshooting ContactForm 7 with my server administrator and reading forums, posts, and comments online.

I’ve come to the conclusion that ContactForm 7 is inoperable with the most recent release of WP.

The plugin WP-Mail-SMTP which in some cases has been known to rectify the issue, does not. The test email feature in WP-Mail-SMTP has worked consistently with all my variations of testing, but CF7 persists in not sending email.

Qmail log files show no indication of error.

  • I’ve used Contact Form 7 on multiple 3.0.1 sites without the slightest problem.

Rather than just stating “broken” Why don’t you explain the problem and work towards a resolution. This plugin is working on probably thousands of WP sites with WP 3. ANd if you read other posts on here, usually mail whether PHP mail or SMTP are related to host/server issues or incorrect settings and then they have it working 100%.

    I’ve recently had similar issues…

I wasn’t able to run “Contact Form 7” in WordPress 3.0.1, running on GoDaddy’s PHP/Windows Hosting environment.

I tried installing “WP-Mail-SMTP” to attempt to fix this issue, to no avalible. The WP-Mail-SMTP reports the same error: “SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
    (10060)”

I believe this issue is largely related to the fact that I am running PHP in a Windows Hosting environment. The next step seems to be testing in an LAMP stack environment to see if I can isolate the issue to PHP or the server.

Any other thoughts would be very helpful.

I’ve also tried multiple combination of SMTP servers including GoDaddy and GMAIL
