Contact 7 not sending info /email info

1. Sporadically emails not received with form info, however client receives auto responder letter, why? (so form is completed but nt received in my email (using 2 emails for backup).
2. Can Contact 7 form easily integrate in a dbase file easily, so if info not sent can still access info?
My developer recommended Gravity forms because I requested a dbase form program and problems- is Gravity a better form for my needs?
