This is one of those plugins which could of been great, but is let down by hasty, seemingly untested, updates which fix some bugs yet create a whole new set, which are so obvious the only conclusion is they haven’t tested the bug fixes to see how they affect everything else.

The programming reminds me of hobbyist programming, disjointed, untested and in many ways lacking much of what you would find from a professional.

Don’t get me wrong it frequently does what it says on the can, BUT the finer points are missing and it really isn’t worth what they are charging for the pro version, a sentiment that applies doubly if you bought on the basis of the word “Stylish” it’s only stylish if you like the very limited styling it allows.

As for the bugs and there are a few, as I pointed out above, they upgrade, put the changelog data in the update folder, unlike most who post it online, then add a nag row to WordPress demanding that you update, but you have no idea what the updates are until… well until you update, then its often too late.

Of two recent updates, one, for what was the very limited email form creation, where they changed settings on the first 3 fields to stop you editing them, however they didn’t reset them to what they should of been and if you had already changed them, you now couldn’t edit them.

You may think this point is minor, however the fix to overcome the problem was a complete rewrite of the calculator and if you had spent many hours creating the calculator, the last thing you needed was to re-spend that time redoing it, because of inept programming on an email field

Next to go was the toggle buttons, or checkbox feature of the calculator, before the update it worked… after update not so well.

Then there’s the issue with the side panel listing which shows the text of a calculated field but not the value, which, by the way is added to the total (bet anyone who’s got the calculator out and added everything up has ended up scratching their head wondering why the different totals).

Saying that it actually displays in the PDF, but online, no sign of it.

Overall if you need a simple calculator with a simple layout, then this does the job, but then lots of similar calculators do the same job for far less cost.

If you want something more complex, then a tentative yes, you may get this to do what you want, within its limitations, but look forward to high level of stress and frustration, especially after updates

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your experience with the Stylish Cost Calculator plugin. We genuinely appreciate you taking the time to express your concerns, as this helps us improve the plugin and provide better support.

We understand that updating the plugin has caused some inconvenience and frustration for you. Please know that we have an extensive testing protocol in place for updates, which aims to ensure a smooth experience for our users. However, due to the architecture of WordPress and the vast number of themes, plugins, and configurations, it is nearly impossible to test for all variables that could potentially affect the plugin’s styling and performance.

That being said, we apologize for any inconvenience you’ve encountered, and we take your feedback seriously. Our team is dedicated to continually refining and improving the plugin to provide a more seamless and professional experience.

    Contact Us for Help
Regarding the specific issues you’ve mentioned, we would like to address them and work with you to find the best solution. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team at https://stylishcostcalculator.com/support/ so we can assist you with the necessary fixes and make sure the plugin meets your expectations.

    Styles and Being Stylish
Sorry, you feel the plugin isn’t stylish. We have 2 frontend styles, 6 checkbox buttons, and animated CTA buttons, tool-tips, invoice-style layouts and much more.

If you have any example frontend styles that you like, please send to us as inspiration for future styles.

PS: We have two more fronted styles in the pipeline, more animations and call-outs coming.

Additionally, we are working on enhancing the plugin’s styling capabilities and addressing some of the limitations you’ve mentioned in order to provide a more comprehensive solution for users who require a more advanced calculator.

    Price
Stylish Cost Calculator strives to be competitive at $99 yearly (as of today), which is $8.90 a month. We have 35+ features, and if you were to compare this to WPForms elite version with webhooks, and their needed add-ons to achieve what SCC can do, you’re looking at over $900 per year in license fees.

That being said, we plan to raise our prices in the near future, to afford more support staff, testers and developers

    Thanks for your feedback
Once again, thank you for your feedback, and we hope you’ll give us the opportunity to address your concerns and provide you with the best possible experience with our plugin.
