Your page says the plugin works with Constant Contact. Can you shed light where to find the necessary code(s) on the CC admin? Not too familiar with CC, but looks a lot more locked-down than mail chimp, cant find anything here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Users have told me it works; I don’t have a ConstantContact account myself.

Here’s what I’ve been told is the process:

    1. Sign in to Constant Contact account.
    2. Go to the “Contacts” tab, then click on “Site Visitor Signup” in the subnavigation
    3. Click “Next” to create a Basic Form
    4. Click “Next” again to complete the form
    5. When the form is completed, you will see a box that is called “HTML Code:”

Confirm with your own code, but here’s what others reported:
    Form Action: https://visitor.constantcontact.com/d.jsp
    E-mail field: ea
Hidden fields, include all of them, including <input type=”hidden” name=”m” value=”1234567891234″> (number will be unique).

If that works, let me know and I’ll put it into a tutorial for others!
    Cheers!

First of all, Brandon, thank you for developing this widget.

Second, I have embedded it into a site I’m developing with the Genesis framework and with the education theme. I have entered the corresponding info for my account into the Genesis eNews Extended widget.

It shows up beautifully on the site amadorvalleyhs.org , but after a person fills out the email address, they are directed to the constant contact site where they are asked to fill out their email again.

There is an option in constant contact that can require site visitors to re-enter their email address at signup; however, I have that de-selected.

Is this the way the widget is supposed to work?

Thank you for your hard work!

    Hi Erik,

You’ll need to change the E-Mail Field Name in your widget settings to “ea” (without quotes).

The form will still take folks over to a ConstantContact page, as it appears that ConstantContact may not support auto-redirecting back to your site without a tighter integration than what the eNews Extended currently offers. Changing the setting, though, would ensure your visitors won’t have to re-enter their e-mail address.

My suggestion would be to change the widget setting to open in a new window, so after subscribing, visitors can close the new window/tab and be on your site.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers!

Thank you, Brandon. That worked perfectly! Erik
