What version of the plugin are you on? Asking so we can confirm if some of the changes from the latest version are in place here, which are meant to help handle some of these moments.

Hmm, not much there to work with, and you’re definitely in the latest version that’d have those changes.

Is the admin notice being pretty persistent at the moment? or has it gone away and stayed that way?

Sorry, I guess I either didn’t get the notification for this or it went to my junk folder, and I’ve been so busy. I just noticed the admin notice is still there — I think it’s been there the whole time. Should I be worried the form might not be working?

No worries, it’s happened to the best of us.

It may still be, but there may be cases of things slipping through the cracks and failing sometimes. The question is what and why and how frequently.

Some good quick questions would be checking if you’ve had any recent signups, and if there’s anything new looking in the error log that may help here.

Thanks — Looks like contacts are still coming through pretty consistently. I don’t know how to read the logs — here’s a link to the lates download — you see anything? https://filebin.net/6ltwn9umlfr3hxhl/constant-contact-errors.log?t=st58xvyf.

    Thanks again!

hrm, still nothing standing out in the form of an error or similar. The log is showing all successes.

Has there been a steady stream of new signups hitting your list, and not just email notifications?

    Hi @sky19er

We believe we have managed to isolate some newly discovered issues that are probably contributing to yours. We hope to have a bugfix release out early this week.

If you’re willing to try it out to help test the fixes before we release to everyone, we’d appreciate it. We also understand if you’d prefer to wait for the official release.

    Thank you for your patience.

Sure, I think I should be able help — I have a dev version of the site set up — lmk what needs to be done and when.

Awesome, we appreciate the willingness. We’ll be back in touch once we have something ready.

Hey @sky19er please give this version a try. It should extract out to the same folder name. If you are going to handle via (s)FTP at all, won’t hurt to back up the current 1.8.5 copy before uploading this.

If you’re going to handle via the WordPress admin UI, we’re recommending making a backup of the site first, as we do have some routines that run during the uninstall process to clean up some of the options and settings we use.

The backing up/duplicating via (s)FTP and whatnot wouldn’t run the routines. May depend on how comfortable you are with which method.

That said, you can find the updated files here https://www.dropbox.com/s/y93n9m0tnwwcfpd/constant-contact-forms-1.8.6-beta.zip?dl=0

It should show as “1.8.6-beta” in your plugin list so you know which to activate.

Changes include some further tweaks to make logging work as we’ve been expecting, and also the exclusion of a hidden form field that we found was causing API requests to be rejected. If the first one was working, we would have more readily spotted the second one. Our apologies there.
