Consent on login page

I’ve read your support article at https://gdpr-wp.com/knowledge-base/save-user-consent-using-a-custom-registration-form/ , but I don’t fully understand the instructions and as a result I get the cookie update consent popup when its not required. Are you able to explain in more simple language how I add the check box to the wp-login page to prevent this popup.
