Hi. I’ve been using Site Kit by G for years, and I am very happy with that plugin, thank you.

Recently there was an important new feature: the option to enable consent mode, which is becoming mandatory for many websites.

When doing so, we are told (by G) to download, install and activate the plugin WP Consent API.

Unfortunately, WP Consent API finds that 95% of plugins do not declare compatibility. And instead of showing the information in a separate log/dashboard, it shows in WP Tools / Site Health.
In other words, we have WordPress site health status flagging a recommended improvement that is not in our hands.

So, is there an option to enable consent mode without using the plugin WP Consent API if we want to have a 100% clear site health status?
Or do you have an alternative solution please?
Or do you think this is a temporary issue because either all plugins will align soon, or because their non declared compatibility issue will soon show elsewhere than in WP site health?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hello @seoservicesbristollimited thank you for getting in touch and for your questions. We are delighted to hear that you have been using the plugin for some time.

Unfortunately there isn’t an option to enable consent mode without using the WP Consent API plugin. The WP Consent API plugin is mandatory when using the consent mode option within Site Kit. We explain more on the WP Consent API plugin in our consent mode guide here.

I don’t have an alternative solution for you at this time and over time other plugins may align with the WP Consent API plugin as you have suggested but I can’t confirm this for any third party plugins.

It’s worth noting that these are also only recommendations and not critical issues for your site. There should be no impact on Site Kit and its functionality including the consent mode feature. I hope this helps to answer your question but please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
