I would suggest that the URL passthrough option should not be enabled by default. The site owners should actually test the functionality before making a decision to use it.

We have several cases after 4.2.0 version update where URL passthrough option breaks anchor link (example.com/#my-anchor) and/or custom URL parameter (example.com/?my-param=value) based functionality when only necessary cookies are allowed.

We’ve also come across a case where URL passthrough broke an automatic redirect created by WordPress (case example: page name has changed and WordPress could handle this redirection itself without manual redirect).
