• I am receiving messages from Google Webmaster tools saying that there are problems with the connectivity of my WordPress site.

I have not experienced an increase in traffic, but from the throttling graph on my isp’s website, I have now learned that my site is being throttled regularly.

Is there anything I can do about this please? The problem is clearly damaging my site’s standing with the search engines.

I have a large-ish site with 1900 or so posts and traffic of around 1500 hits a day at present. I’m using the latest Wp, with the following plugins:

    AdSense Now!
    Akismet
    Anti Feed-Scraper Message
    Enhanced WP-ContactForm
    External Links
    Google+ Plugin
    Google Analyticator
    Hello Dolly
    Jetpack by WordPress.com
    Official StatCounter Plugin
    Privacy Policy
    TentBlogger Optimize WordPress Database Plugin
    TentBlogger Simple SEO Sitemap
    WordPress Database Backup
    WordTwit
    Select WP Super Cache

    Thanks, Gavin Atkin

Why dont you direct this question to hosting provider?

Might I be better giving up with the cacheing altogether?

    Thanks,

Here’s an interesting result: without WP Super Cache, one of the testing sites reckoned my site went slightly faster than with it…

I have contacted them, but as they’re a respected provider, I feel this is more likely to be a technical issue with my site. As usual, I stand to be corrected, of course…

And there’s no more throttling, at least over the shortish sample of time I’ve looked at. I’ll take another look in a couple of hours.

    The throttling has stopped.

I wonder what I should do now? Try some other cacheing plugins and see what their effect is, I guess!

Does anyone have a favourite to recommend?

    Gavin
