Connections is THE directory plugin

Whether you are running an extended team, a membership organization, or any other sort of small to medium sized service where you need to showcase individuals, Connections is the plugin for you. With a robust set of extensions and templates, the plugin has addressed a vital niche in the wordpress ecosystem; the directory.
I use the plugin to create and showcase small teams, as well as medium sized non-profits. In the latter, for example, I have to manage ~350 unrelated folks who attend a marketing meeting. This is a bare bones organization with little resources to manage a web presence. Connections + WordPress gives them some enterprise class tools at a fraction of the cost. Members can be searched and showcased on a randomized roster, and can login and edit their own connections profile.
The plugin author appears to be both committed to supporting the tool, and extending it to provide additional functionality. Five stars and two thumbs up.
