I am using the current version of Connections.

I have tried disabling all other plugins and using the default WordPress 2014 default theme that comes with 3.8. If Connections is enabled, the front end of the website displays nothing. If I disable Connections, the front-end shows just fine.

I have tried this in multiple ways — with other plugins active and without any other active; with default themes and with the intended theme. No matter what I do, it seems that if Connections is active, the homepage won’t show.

I have another site with 3.8 active and Connections working, so this makes no sense.
Steve, if you are inclined to look into it, I can make you a temporary login — but I’m on a short deadline, so for the moment I’ll need to deactivate it so I can keep working. (So the homepage will show when you try to access it.)

Sounds like a PHP memory configuration issue.

Try the options this excellent blog post suggests. Which method that will work for you really depends on your webhost’s configuration. I suggest starting at the top and work your way down.

Thanks! Was there supposed to be a link to a blog post?

    Uh, yeah, sorry about that!

If you’re at work … be aware they seem to have a somewhat racy video ad on the page … the post is very thorough but if I might have to find another link that I can share if that ad is going to be displayed.

Thanks again! Unfortunately, this didn’t work. I did a full re-install of both WordPress and Connections and it seems to be working now. I’m not sure what went awry, but thanks to the short deadline, I don’t really have time to find out. I’ll send more information if I encounter it again. ??

Interesting. Glad to hear it working. Maybe just one of the files were corrupted while WP unzipped the plugin.
