Our client required us a system to automatically post Instagram and Facebook posts when they publish WordPress posts. We figured Jetpack Social was the right plugin for the job, and upon testing with our personal accounts, it did what we expected. We then tried to connect it to our client’s accounts and it didn’t work (it opened the facebook permission window, with an error similar to “invalid nonce”). We then tried using our personal accounts again to do further testing, it stopped working giving us the following error on the jetpack page on our wordpress dashboard: Error connecting account. Invalid blog ID or Jetpack Social is disabled for this blog.

We did try to reinstall the plugin to no avail. What can we do to not only get our accounts to work, but to make sure our client’s accounts will work too.

    Thank you in advance,
    Rodrigo N.

We have also cleared the cache and tried on incognito mode. Is there any way we could get some assistance, as our client is pressuring us? Deeply grateful in advance

    Hi @rodsn,

I checked your site (https://paroquiadealjustrel.pt) and noticed a few things that need to be addressed to ensure Jetpack Social works properly. It appears the Jetpack connection is currently broken, which the autoshare feature relies on for functionality. The first step is to fix this connection.

From what I can see, a security setting or specific plugin might be preventing Jetpack from connecting. If you’re using a security plugin, please check its settings to ensure it’s not blocking Jetpack. Look for options to allow Jetpack IPs, and you can also ask your hosting provider to whitelist Jetpack IPs according to this guide: Jetpack IP Allowlist.

Additionally, I noticed your site loads over multiple URLs. I recommend ensuring the site loads over a single URL, such as https://paroquiadealjustrel.pt, and redirecting all other instances (e.g., https://paroquiadealjustrel.pt, https://www.paroquiadealjustrel.pt) to this main URL. Your hosting provider can assist with this if needed.

Once the connection is fixed, please try connecting to Facebook again and let us know if the issue persists. This article may also be helpful: Fixing Jetpack Connection Issues.

Let us know how it goes!

    Hello @rodsn,

Do you have updates about that? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no activity, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!

    Hello @tamirat22!

Thank you for checking in. We had success after disconnecting the account and connecting it again. Uninstalling the plugin was not enough, as it keeps the connection by the looks of it.

Once again, very grateful for the support. Wishing your team the best ??

    Hi @rodsn,

I can see the Jetpack connection is still not working your site and I can still see the site is loading over multiple URLs. Did you have the chance to address this issue as explained previously?

    Hi there, @rodsn,

Do you have updates about that, do you still need help? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!

    Hey @erania-pinnera!

I am not sure about what issues our website may be giving; i have sucessfully connected our client’s facebook account and it is posting to their social pages, everything seems to be working as intended.

I am not sure about the website being loaded over multiple URLs.

If no security problems arise from this, we can let this be for the time being and you can close this thread.

Deeply grateful for all of the assistance!

    Hey @rodsn!

I was checking your Jetpack connection, and I realised that your site is currently offline with a 500 Internal Server Error.

You should immediately contact you hosting provider to help you bring you site back online. Once that’s done, we can check the Jetpack connection again to make sure all is okay ??

@erania-pinnera thats odd, i just checked and the website is up and running. Sometimes we hit a resource limit, which takes a minute or two to reset. Kindly check now.

    Thank you very much ??

    Hi there, @rodsn,

Ahn, that makes sense. As an unsolicited advice, I’d recommend exploring the option of increasing a bit the memory limit, so your viewers won’t stumble upon into a temporary offline site ??

That said, I still have trouble checking the connection with Jetpack, and when I could, I get an intermittent error: “cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 5000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received”.

This usually means that your web host is blocking some connections Jetpack needs in order to work correctly. OR, it could be related to the memory limit you just mentioned.

Could you please contact your web host and ask them to make sure that the connections to and from *.wordpress.com are allowed and not in the blocklist??In terms of IP ranges, the following ranges need to be fully allowed: https://jetpack.com/support/hosting-faq/

Once the Jetpack connection is stable and working well, I’d mark the case as solved ??
