"Connection Lost" when trying to create a post

  • My wordpress Admin is running slow and when I try to create a post I get this message “Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected. We’re backing up this post in your browser, just in case.” and it seems to run forever. Occasionally I will get a few seconds to update a post or create a new but soon enough the message reappears, effectively disabling my admin.

    This has just happened over the last week and I have not made any changes to the codes im aware off.

    Can anyone help as I am at a loss of what to do.

  • Well.. there is something causing your code to timeout. This could be a plugin, part of your theme, or custom code you’ve added.

    You can check your server error logs to see if any information is available. If the page is timing out, a log will be created and the error logged.

    You could also deactivate ALL plugins; manually clear your browser cache; and see if the issue persists. If it does not… then you know a plugin is causing the issue.

    Likewise, you can switch your theme to the default 2014 theme; manually clear your browser cache; and if it starts working, you know your theme is causing the issue.

    Those are the troubleshooting steps I would use to begin diagnosing.

    I tried deactivating all my plugins. While this certainly worked and stopped the “Connection Lost” message on the post editor, I cant reconnect to JETPACK. It keeps giving me this message why I try “Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.
    Operation timed out after 15000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received”

    ?? HELP
