• I’m getting this error message when I attempt to add nedia to a post.

I have deactivated all of my plugins with no positive fix for the problem. The problem seems to be intermittent. I have gone over this with my host and they insist it’s not their problem. Since so many users are reporting the same problem though their sites reside on a myriad of hosts I tend to agree it’s not the hosting site problem.

Sometimes if I just let the post page sit there for a few minutes the “Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected” error message goes away and I can publish the post.

What the hell am I disconnected and reconnected to????

There seems to be countless reports of this on the forum as well as hosting forums. I have a suspicion that the programmers at WordPress can’t find a solution either. I think the problem crept into the code sometime after version 3.6

That often IS a hosting problem. Who is your host – I can probably guess. But see if you can get some additional information by enabling debug on your site:

And also ask your hosting company how to access the server error logs – see what might be showing up there.

    To your host’s server.

I have the same issue for a few times, and I am having it right now.

It shows: Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected. We’re backing up this post in your browser, just in case.

I run WordPress: 4.3.1 on Localhost (WampServer) No special plugins, only SEO by Yoast, Advanced Custom Fields and Contact form 7.

    Hi,

Having similar problems, testing my brains out for days now.

As soon as I try loading a page in the WP admin dashboard, it takes up to between 9 an 2 minutes to load that page. If I look at the CPU usages at the time a page tries to load, the CPU goes trough the roof.

Once the page has loaded the cpu goes back to normal.
Before the WP update to 4.4.0 this was not happening and in dashboard loading that same page took about 5 sec.

I did see the ” lost connection” message lots of times, has been a while for now, but I suspect it is a matter of time before it is back.

If I try to download a file from my dashboard I get this error:

Error #9038: Loopback test error: Operation timed out after 8000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received. URL: https://www.wpcgroup.nl/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?lang=nl. If you need to contact your web host, tell them that when PHP tries to connect back to the site at the URL https://www.wpcgroup.nl/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?lang=nl via curl (or other fallback connection method built into WordPress) that it gets the error Operation timed out after 8000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received. This means that WordPress’ built-in simulated cron system cannot function properly, breaking some WordPress features & subsequently some plugins. There may be a problem with the server configuration (eg local DNS problems, mod_security, etc) preventing connections from working properly.

    Any idea’s?

    Thanks,
    Annie
