Connection Information reset password?

    Hello,

    I want to upgrade my WordPress version, however when I try it pops up with “Connection Information”, I know the hostname and username but not the password. Is there a way to reset it?

    The trouble is the guy who set it up has moved abroad now, and I cannot get hold of to find out the password.

  • your password should be in your wp-config.php file in the root directory of your wordpress install.

    No, that’s the password for the database. It is not the site or FTP – which is what this message refers to.

    @mrchillyboo: you will need to contact your hosts to obtain your FTP connection details.

    @esmi Thanks for your help, I have managed to get in contact with someone who has reset the FTP details.
