If that doesn’t help, kindly share the following for further troubleshooting steps:

• System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
• Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

We do not have Jetpack installed. I tried all of the options to disconnect, but none of them exist on the site, and this site doesn’t currently have a WordPress.com account.

All plug-ins and themes are current and up-to-date.

That’s what we are trying to do. We have (re)installed the plugin and we click the blue “Connect” button in Woocommerce so that we can create our account. This is when we get the error.

Are you saying we first have to create the account before we can connect? If so, do we need an account on Woo.com? Or WordPress.com?

Yes, please create an account and try connecting.

Woo.com and WordPress.com are the same account, so you can create it on either website. To make it easier for you, let me share the direct link: https://woo.com/start

The connection to?WordPress.com is managed by Jetpack. Although the Jetpack plugin itself is not required, one workaround you can try is to install the plugin and initiate the connection through it after creating the account. Now, when you return to the setup process, you should see your account already connected to WordPress.com.

The client finally created the account, but we still get the same error when trying to connect.

Which Jetpack plugin exactly should we install to try to connect using it? When we search we see a bunch of different ones.
