Connection Error

This “SSH SFTP Updater Support” plugin had been working great, but now when trying to update WordPress or a plugin, I get “Service Unavailable. The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.”
There is no downtime or capacity problem on the server. No code changes have been made to the site since the last working updates using the “SSH SFTP Updater Support” plugin.
I tried updating with all other plugins disabled, and get same error.
I tried turning on WP_DEBUG, but get no additional info.
Are there any recommendations for what I should look into next to resolve this?
