Trying to connect site to Wordfence Central and in the third step labeled: “Testing public key authentication with Wordfence Central.” I’m keep getting following error message: “Wordfence Central secret key has not been created yet.”

Detail of the error in the connection-issues tab at Wordfence Central is
    “–”

How can I solve it? Or create that missing key?

    Thanks in advance Mik

Hi @mik013, thanks for getting in touch.

I just attempted to reconnect your site through your Central connectivity issues tab and am receiving an error, but when running a connection test using cURL and the Wordfence endpoint URL from our end I was able to connect successfully, so it doesn’t seem like the path is blocked or there are connectivity problems at your domain.

Head over to Wordfence Central, go to the Connection Issues tab. Clear out the sites that appear in here.

Now go to your site and log in as an admin. Navigate to Tools > Diagnostics > Other Tests > Clear all Wordfence Central connection data. Clear the connection data and then from the Wordfence Dashboard, click on “Connect this site” in the Wordfence Central widget.

https://www.wordfence.com/help/central/connect/#troubleshooting-connection-issues also has some troubleshooting steps you could follow.

Let me know how you get on!

    Peter.

    Hi @wfpeter
Sorry for my delay, I was a bit busy last days.
    I followed your recommendation:
    1) In Wordfence Central, went to the Connection Issues tab. Cleared out ALL the sites that appeared in here.
I’ve got Your site has been successfully removed from Wordfence Central for all occurrences.
Adn finally : “No sites are having connection issues”

    2) In Tools > Diagnostics > Other Tests > Clear all Wordfence Central connection data I cleared the connection data and got “All associated Wordfence Central data has been removed from the database.”

    3) Then from the Wordfence Dashboard, clicked on “Connect this site” in the Wordfence Central widget with the same result: “in the third step labeled: “Testing public key authentication with Wordfence Central.” I’m keep getting following error message: “Wordfence Central secret key has not been created yet.”

    4) Repeated steps 1) a 2) and tried add the site from Wordfence Central side. Same results.

On the referred page I found out, I’m not using Cloudflare, nor Incapsula, Sucuri, WP Spamshield … non of them apply to me.

    Mik
