    Is it possible for me to link the name of the speaker to the user account in WordPress?

    This is not currently possible.

    There is however a plan to create an extension that links a speaker to a WordPress user account so that this user can edit his/her own speaker/sponsor profile.

    It’s a plan. The extension has not been published yet.
