• Is it possible to build a wordpress site and have the website connect to OpenVMS (VMS) databases on a VAX? Our HOA is looking to redo the website, but portions of if need to connect to a OpenVMS backend. I’ve been told that WordPress can’t do this – so thought I’d toss the general question out there to be sure.

You can use any operating system (OS) which is capable to run
PHP and MySQL, as well as any web server software which can talk to PHP or run it.

OpenVMS was capable to do so, at least for PHP 5.x and MySQL 4.x and MariaDB 5.5
if support status has been not updated since that, it will be too outdated to run modern version of software web stack and modern WordPress (and other web software).

Thank you! I will find out if OpenVMS can do so.
