Connecting Tempera child to style-mobile.css

I need to customize the mobile settings for my Tempera child theme, but can’t figure out how to 1) protect it against updates while still being able to 2) connect it to the site. I put a copy in my child styles folder, but that’s as far as I got.

Any ideas? Thanks!
