I had WordFence and Central setup on a development site configured as a subdomain. I migrated the site to the production site. (site.mydomain.com to site.com). The development site is connected to Central, but when I try to connect the production site it does not work.
It takes me to the WordFence Central page in the backend of the production site, where ti says I connected it a week ago. Clearly refers to the development site.
How do I get Central to recognize that there are now 2 sites I want to connect?
The site connection issues page of Central shows site.com, but no details are present.

Hello @jkengineer and thanks for reaching out to us!

In most cases, the easiest way to correct a connection issue is to remove the site from Wordfence Central. Before adding the site to Wordfence Central again, we recommend that you verify that the site is up and running and that the latest version of the Wordfence plugin is installed and active. Once you have done this, you can add the site to Wordfence Central.

Let me know if this helps at all!

    Thanks!

I disconnected the site.mydomain.com. I attempted to connect site.com. I get the following message in the dialog box:
Existing site found in your account, cannot add duplicate. This site has been created, but has not been verified yet. This can occur if the connection process did not finish. You can find this site under “Connection Issues”.

Under “Connection Issues” the site, site.com, is now listed. I click on the link under Resolve issues – connect to the site. It takes me to site.com. There it displays
    Wordfence Central Status

Activated – connected by [email protected] on August 18, 2020

    Disconnect This Site

Clicking on Disconnect This Site takes me to the WordFence dashboard, where the WordFence Central Status is as above, along with Disconnect This Site. Clicking that asks for confirmation, I give it, it comes back as disconnected and offers to reconnect.

I click on Reconnect. It takes me to Central and the dialog box to connect the site. I click on Connect the site. It gives me the same error:
Existing site found in your account, cannot add duplicate. This site has been created, but has not been verified yet. This can occur if the connection process did not finish. You can find this site under “Connection Issues”.

I think your system has a bug. It appears to be related to, I am guessing, the fact that I did a migration of a connected site and WF can’t tell the difference between the two sites.

ALSO, when I disconnected the site the first time at Central, it disappeared from the panel, but the count at the bottom did not update until I reloaded the page.

    Further:
I removed site.com from the Connections issue pane and was then able to connect it. It went to the site and cycled through checks and came back connected.

I will try to reconnect site.mydomain.com and will advise.

OK – I was able to reconnect site.mydomain.com. It went to the site, went through the checks, and connected.

So, I’m ok for now, but I think you have some bugs to address.

    Thanks for the update @jkengineer

I will report that to our QA team to have a look at it.

Glad to hear its working correctly now.
