    Hello,

I recently updated JetPack to 3.4.1. The update seemed to go through fine, but the next day when I attempted to log in to my site using the wp-login page, it was returning “Fatal error: Call to undefined function inet_pton() in “file path”\protect.php on line 276.

I was able to ftp into my site and disable the JetPack plugin and then tried to re-activate it. I’ve noticed the problem only seems to happen when I actually connect JetPack to wordpress.com. If I have the plugin activated but not connected, I don’t get this issue.

My host is running PHP version 5.2.17 with a Server API CGI/FastCGI. I do enjoy the benefits that JetPack gives me without having to use several different plug-ins, so any help would be great.

I have connecting Problems to wordpress.com too.

Invalid request, please go back and try again.
    Error Code: invalid_client
Error Message: The required “client_id” parameter is missing.

I have the same error Fatal error: Call to undefined function inet_pton() in D:\Hosting\10513247\html\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\jetpack\modules\protect.php on line 276

I gave up and turned off the Brute Protect feature. Had the same problem on two different sites running different themes. I’d love to have it on though. Is there a general bug here, or is there some known plug-in or theme conflict?

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Thank you all for the reports! We’re aware of the issue and we’ll get this fixed in the next release. You can follow our progress here:
    https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/1824

In the meantime, I’m afraid I can only recommend that you deactivate the Protect module.

    Hi Jeremy,
Could you kindly explain how to deactivate the Protect module, since loggin in into the admin part now doesn’t work.
    Thanks!

@borkeso If you can’t log in to your dashboard, you’ll need to start by removing the Jetpack plugin.

You should be able to use FTP or Cpanel to delete the jetpack folder from your plugins folder on the server – find it here:

    wp-content
      plugins
         jetpack - DELETE THIS FOLDER

Once you’ve done so, you can reinstall Jetpack, activate it back, and then go to Jetpack > Settings to deactivate the Protect module.

Hi, i had a similar problem when i connected my jetpack to wordpress.com and since then i’m not able to log in to my dashboard. I went to my Cpanel and deleted jetpack but it didn’t resolve the problem. you can see the message when you log in https://www.247carros.com/wp-admin thx

@silencemzs Could you try to delete the existing plugin, as explained here, and upload the new version I linked to above, by going to Plugins > Add New > Upload in your dashboard?

Let me know how it goes.

    @jeremy Herve
I uploaded the version you gave and activated, everything is working fine. is there any need that I deactivate any specific feature to avoid jetpack conflicting with wordpress seo?
    thank you very much
