Connecting a previous WordPress account to WebMatrix Installation

  • I recently installed WebMatrix and cannot connect a previous WordPress account. Every time I try it asks me to register a new WordPress account. Please help!! So frustrated!!

  • WebMatrix is just like other web hosting for “self-hosting” WordPress. It is a new installation of WordPress and only comes with the account you defined for the Administrator during installation.

    Other users/accounts have to either be created by hand or imported. It sounds like you are referring to accounts/users you previously created on WordPress.com. You’ll have to export them from wordpress.com — a process explained on the wordpress.com site, which they have support for there.
