Connected site tag and dual tracking

    I have been getting reports of inconsistent data coming through to GA4.

    Sites have been using Google’s Setup Assistant which results in the Universal + GA4 accounts being connected via a ‘Connected Site Tag’ in the Analytics interface.

    This means it starts collecting GA4 data even if you still only have the Universal tracking code on your website.

    If the site is then connected with Dual Tracking, does that mean data comes through twice (once through UA rerouted to GA4, and once through GA4 directly?)

    If so is your recommendation to disable the connected site tag? I can’t find any mention of this in your tutorials.
