    Hi there,
    I’m trying to find a solution that will allow me to connect unshared/unpublished tables google sheets or excel files. I want to keep the data behind a subscribe wall/paywall so I don’t want regular internet traffic to be able to find it and navigate to it.

    I do have full access to a web server so I can push csv or xls files somewhere if this plugin can read from web server directory.

    If not, can you recommend a way to hack this use case with your plugin? For example, I have Zapier, so I can handle updating the underlying csv file when the user updates it.

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    TablePress can indeed import tables (CSV and Excel) from a directory on the same server, without having that exposed as a URL.

    Even the Google Spreadsheet method would work, though. You would need to share the spreadsheet publicly (it would then be accessible with a secret URL), but as that URL is not exposed anywhere, nobody will really be able to find the spreadsheet on Google Docs.
