• I am self hosting my wordpress site and am attempting to connect to Jet Pack to finalize to create an account.

I receive the below error message.

Appreciate any guidance anyone can provide moving forward.

Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site https://10.1.10.81 [IXR -32300: transport error: http_request_failed cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10000 milliseconds]

  • Even I get this error. I tried disabling all plugins, but it did not help.

Same. Plus it triggers a 403 security error until I shut down all browsers and re-open them. (posting to get responses)

    Thanks all!

    Hi everyone,

I had the same issue this morning “cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 1000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received jetpack” after deactivating JetPack.

Since JetPack has been working seamlessly until today, I figured that the issue could be caused by one of the latest plugins I installed. In my case, after deactivating “Broken Link Checker” and “WP All Export” (though I doubt that the latest may have caused the issue), everything went back to normal. Also, I made sure that XML-RPC was enabled in my security configuration.

I hope this can help some of you.

    Tried all that, no success.

Banzai! Thank you, nikkoboy! It was WP All Export in my case, too.

I discovered that if I deactivated WPAE, then did the Jetpack activate and connect, then reactivated WPAE, things went back to working as always.

    Thanks again!

    Got the same error.

@ryancowles would you like to take a look? Should I open a separate ticket?

    Thanks a million!

@incc Can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site?

    1. Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2. Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3. Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4. Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5. Click the “Contact Support” button to send us the debug results privately. It’s best not to post this information on public forums, as it contains private details about your site.

    Thanks!
