• Hey!

I want my posts to appear on the wordpress.com reader via Jetpack, which usually works via XML-RPC.
Since it’s deprecated and a security risk, my hosting deactivated it.

So, my alternative is connecting the site and Jetpack via Rest API, but I don’t know how to send my posts automatically or set it up.

Does anyone know about this and has a resource on how to do it?

    Hi @insamyniac

By default, Jetpack communicates with your site via XML-RPC. You can read more about how we do that here:

We consider XML-RPC to be safe and encourage hosts that want to lock down access to xmlrpc.php to add Jetpack’s IPs to an allow list. In situations where Jetpack can’t communicate with a site via xmlrpc.php, it will communicate via an alternate method. Could you share your site URL here so that we can make sure it is connected to Jetpack?

Lastly, for your posts to appear in the WordPress.com Reader, you must have a paid Jetpack plan as described in our FAQ.

I didn’t know a paid Jetpack plan would be necessary. So, you say, there’s no chance to have my posts shown up via wordpress(com) reader on the free version?
There’s no other way than spending money?

    It’s about both my blogs:
    https://www.insamyniac.com and https://www.sunrivity.com

I checked that before and both are connected with Jetpack

Hi @insamyniac, with a Jetpack connection, anyone can follow your site through the WordPress.com Reader, and your site will only appear in the Sites search results.

A paid plan is required if you want your blog posts to be searchable via Tags, or if you want blog posts to appear in search results.
