Connect Lost- WooCommerce Product Image

    Hello,

    I keep getting the “Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected. We’re backing up this post in your browser, just in case.” error when adding a product image under WooCommerce.

    Infact, I get the error every time I add any media to a product, whether it’s in the description, or a the product gallery, or product image. Obviously, I know it’s not a connection error.

    Does anyone have an idea of how I can fix this?

  • I’m getting it too since the upgrade to 5.5
    I really think I am not upgrading for at least 6 months from now on.

    Hi there,
    This problem has appeared a few times over the years and I believe is not directly related to WordPress but more to the PHP limits on your server.

    If you could kindly share your System Status Report, in particular the Server Environment settings, it would help us pinpoint the issue.

    You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.?
    Select Get system report and then Copy for support.?

    Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here.

    Hi there,
    I recommend that you change the following PHP settings:

    PHP Time Limit: 300
    PHP Max Input Vars: 1000

    to

    PHP Time Limit: 600
    PHP Max Input Vars: 10000

    Please test this and let us know how you get on.

    Hi again,
    There are a few ways to achieve this, but it depends on what your host allows in your account.
    The easiest way is to use the cPanel File manager to edit the wp-config.php file in the root of your site.

    Find the line that reads:
    define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);
    and add this below it:

    @ini_set( ‘max_input_vars’ , 10000 );

    set_time_limit(600);

    Save that and refresh your site. Then you can check the System Status Report under WooCommerce > Status to see if the values have been updated.

    If that doesn’t work we may need to ask your hosts how they would prefer you to achieve this.
