Hello,
If you decided to work on a Multisite environment, with multiple sub-sites, then the Vik Booking installation will have to be shared across all sub-sites of the Network, which means that every site will display the same contents by reading the data from the same tables.
This actually happens automatically, because we do not re-create the database structure for every sub-site, and so all sub-sites will be always synced automatically, but they will also contain the same room-types, reservations and any other content.
The purpose of using Vik Channel Manager together with Vik Booking is just to update/sync your website with third party channels like Booking.com, Expedia or even Agoda, but this plugin is not useful to update the availability on a different website where another instance of Vik Booking is available.
If you wanted to set up a custom way of syncing the availability, then the APIs made available by Vik Channel Manager could probably be useful, but such API calls won’t be triggered automatically for the sync, this is something that should be implemented manually on both sites, and so this is not probably something we recommend doing.
Also, if you have any particular request about the APIs of the complementary plugin Vik Channel Manager, you should consider contacting us directly from our websites, because that plugin is not listed on WordPress, and so this forum for Vik Booking is probably not the right place.
Just for your information, API calls work with real-time updates, pricing change depending on the number of channels you wish to connect, on the number of room-types as well as on the duration of the e4jConnect subscription, but they are recommended only to those willing to implement custom connections with third party software. We do not recommend using the APIs of Vik Channel Manager just to sync two different instances of Vik Booking installed on two different websites.
In this case, setting up an automatic syncing through the channel “Generic iCal” is probably better, because you won’t have to code anything, and the calendars of the two Vik Booking installations would be synced automatically. However, this would require you to have both plugins Vik Booking and Vik Channel Manager set up on the two different websites.
As already suggested, this is probably not the right place to discuss about the complementary plugin Vik Channel Manager, as it’s the forum of the main plugin Vik Booking. We kindly ask you to contact us directly from our websites should you have any other questions. Thank you.
