I have worked on this for 4 days now and cannot get a combination that works. I want two things, and I am thinking I cannot get them both.

    1. multiple events slug: pack-calendar/ page post slug pack-calendar/
    2. single event slug: pack-event/ page post slug pack-event/

What I want – a calendar page with the calendar and an events page with the events listed from the shortcodes and a single-event-page that let’s the event pop-up and be seen in full. Have not gotten there in 4 days so now I think it cannot be done.

The past events show up on the pack-event page. The calendar does not render. If I put a shortcode on a page called Events with a slug called event-testing/ when the list shows up from the shortcake, if you select an event it tries to render on the single event slug page where a list is already being rendered automatically from the calendar (I guess) /event/single-post-page. The single post page has a bunch of events already on it.

This whole thing is so confusing and the calendar has not shown up at all. I clearly do not understand how to configure this to get what I want. Is it even doable?

    Hello!

While this plugin is not associated with The Events Calendar and you may need to ask the calendar set up questions there, I did make a quick video showing the basic setup of the calendar and this shortcode:

Hope that clears stuff up a bit on how to set things up!

I just upgraded to Shortcode Pro and when I put the shortcodes on any page they show up as text. Something is interfering with the function of your code. Do you know of any know plugins that interfere with this code? We are using the Credence theme on our site.

I changed the them to twenty seventeen – still had all the same errors. slugs are not working, shortcodes are not working. Something is either blocking this for this site. I cannot figure out what. Debugging is not on. There 404 errors wherever the calendar should go. I am going to pull the entire set of plugins out and reinstall them all to see if that helps.

Definitely sounds like some kind of conflict. You’ll want to try deactivating all the other plugins in addition to switching the theme, and make sure The Events Calendar Shortcode and The Events Calendar are both activated (making sure you have a backup first of course).

Are you trying to add the shortcode to a Page (as shown in the video) or are you trying to add the shortcode in a widget?

I cannot deactivate all of them, I have some that I have to retain like Slider Revolution and a few others that form the foundation of the sites. What I cannot figure out is that this code is working on another site saintjosephcathedral.org. I have not yet updated the site to Pro for the shortcodes. I wonder if my host has a different php configuration for cubscoutpack603.org the site that is having issues. They like to tweak PHP to make WordPress faster and more secure. But they have secured me out of my own site as well so they might go a bit far. I will check.

It’s likely not a PHP configuration issue but possible.

The reason to deactivate the plugins (temporarily) is to see which is causing the conflict, following these steps:

    1. Ensure you have a backup of your site in case there are any issues when disabling/enabling plugins or your theme
    2. Disable all plugins (except The Events Calendar and The Event Calendar Shortcode plugins), and switch to a default theme like Twenty Sixteen then verify the issue is resolved
    3. Re-enable your plugins and switch back to your previous theme one by one verifying if the issue is still occurring, and note which one causes it to break

Let me know which plugin/theme causes the issue and I may be able to come up with a fix, but you’ll most likely need to contact the theme or plugin author and have them fix the issue or try to find an alternate plugin to do the same thing.

It definitely has to be something on the cub scout site because I am having no problems on the saintjosephcathedral.org site. It’s truly weird. I have flushed the permalink several times. I will look at bringing the site down and shifting the plugins off.
