Confusion between /event /events and calendar

That’s not really an error – it’s a warning telling you that you have a WordPress Page with the same slug as the one that The Events Calendar is using.

So the Calendar is using the event slug? How do you know what plug calendar is using? Wouldn’t calendar use the plug “calendar”

The “calendar” view (i.e. the month/day/list views) uses the “Events URL slug” that you set. The “listing of events” and “calendar” you reference in your first post use this same slug.

I am totally lost

I have two pages: Events and Event
I have an Events URL Slug: events
I have Single URL Event slug: event

When I click “Where is my calendar? Right here It goes to the url/events and shows the calendar. But the url event/ also shows the calendar.

What is the slug for the Single URL Event for?

The Single event URL slug will show the same view as the Events URL slug if for some reason you link/navigate directly to it. But that’s not what it’s intended for; it’s intended to build the URL for single event pages, e.g. https://mysite/event/this-single-event-page-talks-about-one-event

While https://mysite/event/ and https://mysite/events/ show the same view, https://mysite/event/single-event-page works, while https://mysite/events/single-event-page will redirect.

In summary: https://mysite/events/ is intended to show all your events (hence the plural), whereas https://mysite/event/… is intended to build the URL to a single event page. There’s no third distinct calendar slug; that’s incorporated in the Events URL slug https://mysite/events/.

Our New User Primer does a great job at explaining how to properly install and activate the plugin.

Basically, if you’ve created a page with the same slug as what you have entered in Events > Settings > General > Events URL slug, you need to delete the page you created.

Whatever you entered in Events URL slug under Events > Settings > General is where your main events are listed in whichever format you have selected under Events > Settings > Display > Default view. If you have “List” selected for the Default view setting, it will display your events in list format. To view the calendar (A.K.A. month view), you’d visit your main events page, then enter /month and it will take you to your month view. Same goes for Map view (/map)

Your single events will all have whatever you set in Events > Settings > General > Single event URL slug before their individual event slug. For example, say you entered /events in the Events URL slug setting and /event in the Single event URL slug setting. Your event URL structure would look like this: https://your-site.com/events (main events page) and https://your-site.com/event/single-event-1 (single event).
