Conflitc with Ezoic redirect

  • I have just registered with the Ezoic ad network. It adds a redirect to my adds.txt file. This redirect conflicts with Relevanssi search. It appends these characters to each URL: ‘&tztc=2‘ and the result is a blank pg instead of search results. FOr example, a search for the term “Israel” resolves to ‘https://www.richardsilverstein.com/?s=israel&tztc=2.’

    This seems to be a conflict between the 2 plugins and I don’t know which one is the cause or how to fix it.

    Sorry, I can’t help you with this. On all my browsers, the searches stop at the “Please enable cookies in your browser and reload the main page.” page. I have enough adblocking in all my browsers that the Ezoic ad network redirect probably just makes your site unusable for me. (Even if I disable my adblockers, I’m still stuck at the “Please enable cookies” step.)

    The extra parameter in the URL doesn’t bother Relevanssi; Relevanssi only looks at the URL parameters it needs and doesn’t even notice if there’s something else. I think the multiple redirects Ezoic adds are the problem, but it’s hard to say.

    Maybe you can check with the Ezoic support; I took a quick look at the Ezoic source code, but it’s way too complicated for me to know how it works.

    I’ve written to Ezoic support. I hope they can figure it out. I’ve used Relevanssi for years.

    What makes no sense to me is that it only causes this problem (at least so far, since I’m new to Ezpoic) on searches. Pages seem to load fine.

    Hopefully Ezoic support can explain what the plugin is doing in the searches. I also don’t have any problems browsing your site outside the search.
