Conflict with WPML

Wow. That’s a combination I haven’t tried yet.

The terms list – where do you mean? The broadcast meta box, the post overview or somewhere else?

Hmm, I mean like this:

I have a post type “store” and a taxonomy “floor” (to represent which floor of the mall the stores are on). The terms would be “Floor 1”, “Floor 2”, etc. etc.

I want the floors to be selectable per blog, but with WPML enabled I never see “Floor 1”, “Floor 2″… options. I see the dropdown for “Set manually”, just the floor terms never appear. This is a conflict only with WPML as far as I can tell.

It’s definitely a conflict with WPML, but god knows how…

I’ve now tested with a normal post type (post), with different categories on the two blogs.

I chose a language, started writing a new post, selected manual categories on a child blog and the list of categories, in the correct language, appeared below. Just like it should.

I used WPML v3.1-a2 for my testing.

Have you tried a normal post type, with normal categories?

I’m figuring the conflict is probably with the custom post type and the custom taxonomy. This will probably require some of my time to login remotely and access the files via FTP. Get into contact with me after testing with a normal post type.

Ok, I tested with WPML 3.0.1 and WP 3.8.1 with a regular post with regular categories and when I selected manual categories on a child blog nothing appeared.

I don’t have any custom jQuery running in admin.

I see there’s an upgrade to WPML 3.0.2-a, but I don’t see 3.1-a2. Going to test with the upgrade and let you know if that helps…

WPML 3.0.2-a has the same issue.

Wait, it works! I changed some settings in my WPML extensions and suddenly the categories appeared (this is default post with default categories). Now testing in custom posts…

Here’s what I found. When I create a post and choose to set taxonomies manually in child blogs, I can see the list of categories in the correct language, but when I publish the post my selections in the child blogs are not broadcasted. If I go into each child blog I’ll find the broadcasted post (although it is not broadcasted in my selected language!), choose the categories I want, and then in the main parent blog I can see my selections in the broadcast metabox for that post. I suspect if the post was broadcasted with the correct language, the categories would broadcast correctly too.

So incorrect language, you say?
