The latest version of Wordfence offers a firewall. However, there seems to be a conflict with NinjaFirewall, which also uses the auto_prepend_file setting it wants to use. It offers to either proceed with the Wordfence firewall installation and they will include the NinjaFirewall file from within their wordfence-waf.php file, which they say will maintain compatibility with our site, or they offer that we can opt to override the existing NinjaFirewall PHP setting. Which option should we choose (please see this image – https://s30.postimg.org/9qs4is5i9/ninjafirewall-wordfence.jpg)? Thanks.

    Hi

You cannot use more than one auto_prepend_file directive per vhost, and you really shouldn’t enable both applications side by side as you could end up with some serious issues.
Note that NinjaFirewall has been running for several years, it is very stable and offer a much better protection, so you really don’t need any other security application.

But it’s up to you ??

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

In its regular scans, Wordfence marks few NinjaFirewall files as critical. They are the “nfwlog/firewall year-month.php” files as shown in this image https://s18.postimg.org/jhhqe45o9/wordfence-ninja-critical.jpg. How do I resolve these errors? Though at times, these errors vanish, they reappear later in other Wordfence scans.

/wp-content/nfwlog/ is NinjaFirewall’s log and cache directory.
The firewall_YYYY-MM file is the firewall log that you can see from the “NinjaFirewall > Firewall Log” menu. It contains all blocked threats and hacking attempts, and hence some scanners may wrongly flag it.
You can safely whitelist this /wp-content/nfwlog/ folder.
