Working on a site for someone. I was missing info on the tabs SEO & Readability suddenly(they wouldn’t expand). Also meta box and keyword phrase and preview was also missing and the right hand side readability and Seo checkmarks were gone too while editing a page. I have isolated the problem to be due to the Wordfence Plugin. I have currently disabled Wordfence and the areas showed up again. There was just a Wordfence update and that seems to have affected Yoast. I have been using Yoast on other sites with no problem. How do I fix it? Is it a setting? I would like to keep using both plugins. Around the time this happened I got this error, which is probably unrelated wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/hr/plugin.min.js so I reinstalled WordPress with the one click on the dash. But the only thing that brought back the functionality of Yoast was to deactivate Wordfence. Any insights would be appreciated into how I can continue to use both plugins. Thank you.

  • Hi Deborah! Have you informed Wordfence about this issue? If this started to occur after their recent update yesterday, they should be made aware as well. Also, the error you got seems to be coming from the HR plugin. Have you tried deactivating that while keeping Yoast SEO and Wordfence activated? You may also deactivate all other plugins and keep Yoast SEO and Wordfence activated to narrow down the conflict.

TY Rumejan. I am going to get in touch with them. Not sure what you mean by the HR plugin. I don’t think I have that plugin. I thought the error was from the WordPress core files. Tinymce is part of that now.

Hello, Deborah! We were unable to reproduce the issue. We tried activating just Yoast SEO v14.3 and Wordfence Security v7.4.8 together with the Twenty Twenty theme and everything seems fine.

    OK, well thanks for trying.

If you have not performed a full conflict check by deactivating all your non-Yoast plugins except for WordFence and switching to a default theme like 2020 (we are not sure if you did that based on your comment), we recommend doing so.
