    The last Yoast SEO update conflicts with Visual Composer and blocks it from working on edit pages.

    My pages are just full of shortcodes from VC and in Chrome console I have the following error:

    Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘replace’ of undefined – wp-seo-replacevar-plugin-330.min.js:1

    WP and all plugins are up to date. If I disable Yoast SEO then the issue is corrected.

    I need help fixing this.

    Thank you

  • If you go to SEO -> Social -> Facebook (tab) and ENABLE the Facebook open graph settings, and then refresh the affected editing page, does the issue go away?

    @askkim – Open graph was already enabled and it does not fix the issue. It’s a relatively reset issue within the last few weeks.

    If I disable Yoast SEO then VC works fine.

    I’ve been using both together on many sites for over 2 years and this is the first time I’ve experienced this issue.

    I don’t know if it’s a conflict with visual composer but for sure I had to revert to version 3.3.1 because last version of content analysis freeze my pages: almost impossible to edit because 100% of cpu use. By the way I am in a french system with french wordpress and content.

    One thing is sure is that Yoast do not detect <h2> tags done by visual composer…which bring bad results in content analysis.

    @all – I sincerely understand the desire to work together on a ticket. However, unless you’re the OP, will you please start your own thread? Feel free to link to this thread if you like. Every single hosting environment is slightly different and because of that we only work with one person at a time. When you do, please be sure to tell us the results of having done a complete conflict check as described here: https://kb.yoast.com/article/253-how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts

    @jinsley8 Can you please tell me what version of VC and what version of Yoast SEO you are running? Please also tell me the results of doing a conflict check in the way described here: https://kb.yoast.com/article/253-how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts

    @askkim

    At first, I was running VC 4.7.4 and Yoast 2.3.5 – no issues

    I upgraded Yoast SEO 2.3.5 to 3.3.2 and the conflict occurred. I tried update VC to v4.12 and the issue still remains.

    I deactivated all plugins except VC – the on-page editor started working again. As soon as I activate Yoast it breaks. Only these 2 plugins are activated when this occurs.
