    It seems that this won’t work when Tribe Events is also installed – I get an error message in Firefox saying that the API has been called twice

    Ok, Thanks for your information.

    Because google does not supports multiple api reference from single website.

    Could you share your website URL? so that I can have a look on JS Console also.
