Dear Complianz team, I’ve recently started to use a paywall on my website. It’s from steadyhq.com, a German competitor of Patreon, and they offer the paywall as a plugin. On the posts I use it, my YouTube embeds ABOVE the paywall do not work properly anymore (only the thumbnail is shown, but no player) and their team told me it’s a conflict with Complianz. Indeed, when I switch Complianz off on the post, the issue disappears. Here’s an example with activated paywall:

6 versteckte iOS 17 Kurzbefehle, die dir richtig Zeit sparen (+ Bonus-Befehl) (neumann.digital)

is there any way I can use both plugins without having this issue?

    thanks

    David

    Hi @neumanndigital,

It doesn’t look like it’s a conflict between Complianz and SteadyHQ, I integrated the tool on a test website with Complianz and added a YouTube video; which behaves as expected. You can see my example here: https://frca.instawp.xyz/

Perhaps you have an optimization tool enabled as well, which may be related. I’d check if you’re still able to replicate the behavior when temporarily bypassing such optimizations, which should help narrow down the culprit.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Thanks Jarno, I’ve reached out to WP Rocket. When I disable lazy loading for images, the issue does not occur anymore. Now I just need to limit this deactivation to the YouTube embed.

    thanks for your quick answer.

Hi Jarno, so the team at WP Rocket have checked this and fixed the issue. However, they say the cause was in my Complianz settings:

“On the Complianz integrations Plugins setting, WP Rocket was enabled.

When this setting is enabled, it adds a CSS class (cmplz-placeholder-1 cmplz-blocked-content-container) to the parent element of the iframe that prevents the YouTube videos from being displayed as expected.”

Now, I was under the impression that it was correct to activate the WP ROCKET toggle under Complianz integrations. Was that wrong? Turning it off let the issue disappear. Please contact me if you need further info.

    Hi @neumanndigital,

This WP Rocket integration at our end is specific to lazy loading, but we can exclude this when the steadyhq.com plugin is activated.

We need to some testing of course, but it should be in the next update.

    regards Aert
