• I am using Slick Carousel for a blog feed on my homepage. When I installed NextGen Gallery to handle image galleries on my posts, it broke the Slick carousel on the homepage. When I deactivate the plugin, the Slick slider works. When I reactivate it, it breaks. So I know the issue lies with the NextGen Gallery. How can I figure out what the conflict is?

@mcography – Have you brought this to the attention of the script’s author as well?

We would be more than happy to look at a WordPress plugin conflict but this appears to be an issue with a jQuery plugin which may be outside the scope of our support.

    Thanks!

@photocrati Thanks for your response. I have not contacted the Slick plugin author yet.

In addition to breaking the Slick carousel, NextGen also broke the Isotope jQuery plugin I am using on my blog page. So I deactivated NextGen and found a different plugin.

It would be nice if we could figure out what the issue is so that I could use NextGen. But for now, because I am on a deadline, I’l have to use a different plugin for my galleries.

@mcography – We’ve actually done some preliminary testing with the Isotope jQuery plugin (for a possible future release/functionality option) and found no significant issues with it that I am aware of but we have not tested it very thoroughly.

@photocrati – Well, when I activate NextGen and NextGen Plus, the masonry items on my blog page only show one column on the left side of the screen rather than 4 columns (as I’ve set it to show).

The 10 items in the Slick carousel (which should only show 3 posts at a time) are all displayed.

Is there a no-conflict mode in NextGen?

@mcography – Please contact our Support team directly via your member’s area at https://nextgen-gallery.com/ with any questions related to NextGEN Plus (as in the Masonry display issue).

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
