  • I am in a similar boat, and would also like to ask you to make this change… I have not yet reviewed your plugin, and am now motivated to do so, with reflection upon your response here…

    Kind regards…

    Hi @richardmtl, hi @crzyhrse,
sorry for my late reply but I’ve been on holidays for a week.

I’ll check how to preserve ShortPixel metadata and let you know as soon as a new release is ready.

Much appreciation for taking this on…

I’m working on a solution but I can’t debug the code on my localhost because ShortPixel works only on public servers.

I contacted their support but they said there are no developer version of their plugin unlocked to work on localhost.

I’ll try it on a public server in a few hours, but this kind of test require a lot of time, I hope to release a fix tomorrow.

Short update: the issue has been fixed!

I need to do some more test, but I think to release the new version tomorrow.

Yay…! And thank you for being so on it… We’ll need to let Shortpixel know once your new version is released, so they can remove the warning they presently have in their plugin when both Shortpixel and Phoenix Media Rename are installed and activated…

Maybe if we all of us do that they will get on to it as quickly as you have gotten on to this…

    Again thank you…

    Hi guys,
I just released version 2.2.0 that fixed the issue you reported, let me know if you find other problems.

@crzyhrse: it is a pleasure to help my users when possible ??

Yay, this is great news! Thank you so much, @crossi72 ! I’ll update my previous thread and let them know. Thanks for the responsiveness!

    Hi together,

I just found this article and I was glad to read, that the problem is solved.

Unfortunately it isn’t: After renaming a photo with Phoenix, ShortPixel starts to compress the image immediately.

    What went wrong?

    Thank you für your answer!
    Timo

I will add to this and Say I have found similar, in essence the issue continues…

    Hi all,
I didn’t change anything in Phoenix Media Rename interaction with ShortPixel, I’ll check if they changed something.

In my latest release I added a custom action to notify external plugins that an image has been renamed, I’ll contact ShortPixel support team to let them know that this integration exists, so they can avoid to compress renamed images.

    Hi all,
I just released Phoenix Media Rename 3.0.5 that fixes the issue with ShortPixel.

They changed the structures of metadata stored in the database, I changed the code to adapt it to the new structure and now everything is working again.

    C.

Hello, I have the latest version of Shortpixel and Phoenix media rename. However, I’m getting the plugin is incompatible with yours.

Perhaps there are changes on either side again?

    Thanks,

    Hi @pjlam,
I tested Phoenix Media Rename with ShortPixel and everything is running, I think they didn’t remove the message after my last update.
