Conflict with Kadence Starter Templates

    FYI, issue as per topic title:

    Fatal error: Cannot declare class AwesomeMotive\WPContentImporter2\WXRImporter, because the name is already in use in /home/wp/public_html/wp-content/plugins/kadence-starter-templates/vendor/wxr-importer/WXRImporter.php on line 0

    Would be good if you guys got together and figured out the best way forward or at least put a big notice on your plugin page giving people a heads up not to activate both plugins.

    Have also reported it in the other plugin’s support area here.

    We’re sorry you had a bad experience with our plugin.

    The AwesomeMotive\WPContentImporter2\ library that is used in our plugin is maintained by us. It is publicly available, so others can use it as well. It looks like the Kadence Starter Templates plugin is using it. Of course, requiring the same class the second time will produce the error you got.

    The best solution would be for Kadence Starter Templates plugin to check if our plugin is enabled and use the existing WXRImporter class from our code to perform their imports, or even better, prefix the namespace of the importer library, so that these class conflicts would not occur.

    Hi @capuderg no apology required, on the contrary my thanks to you guys for contributing your expertise to the community. Not a “bad experience” as such, these things happen, just wanted to give you and Kadence a heads up, easily fixed issue.

    Given the library is maintained by you it only seems fair Kadence should fix it their end ??

    I’m facing problem in uploading kedance starter templates. following error message appears:

    Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Kindly help me to resolve the issue.
