Hi futta, there’s a slight problem in java compression with html5 player and weptile plugins, actually it makes the player outwork. Another issue is css compression which can’t manage theme css files properly (I’m using BP default theme). So these are plugins which I use and couldn’t work with autoptimize java compression: 1- MediaElement.js – HTML5 Audio and Video 2- Weptile Image Slider Widget.

did you try excluding some of the javasript you mentoined using the appropriate option in the config-screen?

Sorry I’m very newbie in programming, would you please give the clue in details? or check those plugins by yourself if you have time… tnx

Clues; load your blog without JS-compression, look at the HTML and write down the names of the javascript-files that are used by a.o. the HTML5-player. Then re-enable JavaScript-compression while excluding the script whose name you wrote down. Some trial and error are not uncommon ??

If I find some time one of the next couple of days, I’ll give mediaelements a try.

Thanks a lot for being responsible, actually cloudflare compression does not have your plugin efficiency but it works with no problem in case of js and css compression.
    Original home page size: 743kb
    Autoptimize html+js+css compression: 356kb
    Cloudflare html+js+css compression: 468kb
I’m looking for your plugin fully working to use it instead ??

Did a quick install of mediaelements HMTL5 and all seems well with default settings John, cfr. this post on my testblog. But you’re on buddypress, right? That is known to … complicate things, I’m afraid. I’ll put BP-support on my wish-list, but that might take a while.

    @ futtta
Yeah, I use BP, these are details:
    Wordpress 3.5.1
    Buddypress 1.7
    CentOS server all updated
The player works fine, challenge is its skin and loading time. In a whole picture with HTML compression everything seems well, JAVA compression makes some parts like wordpress password strength meter and some js based plugins disabled and CSS compression force the @font face and background pictures all gone (even with extra options). If any other details are required, don’t hesitate to ask.

Another slight issue is Java lazy load…

difference between load speed using internal Autoptimize CDN is eye catching on a new install WP, combination with hyper cache, cloudflare external CDN and having Google pagespeed module on apache server gave me a rocket.

Thanks for the extensive feedback John, this will be most useful when looking into BP-compatibility.

But to make sure your (and those of occasional readers of this thread) expectations are correct; Autoptimize might (will?) not always work out of the box for all of the javascript-“widgets” you mention. In those cases tweaking (as described in the FAQ under “Configuring & Troubleshooting Autoptimize”) will be required by the blog owner him- (or her-)self.
