• Hi,

I use the free version of the Highlight theme for my website and Elementor as my site builder. It comes out there is a conflict between the two as the social media icons in the footer of my website show as empty squares. When I deactivate Elementor the issue disappears but I obviously cannot deactivate it permanently as it is my primary website builder.

Can you please help me with solving the issue.

    Regards,
    Preslava

  • Hi,

does this issue occur on all pages of the website or just on the homepage?

I actually made a new footer with Elementor and lost the footer paralax effect but this is the answer I received from the ExtendThemes support team:

    Hello,

The drag & drop builder we have in Customizer and Elementor use different page structures and different code markup so if you edit a page with both builders they will break each other’s structure and they won’t work properly anymore.

This is a valid issue with any two builders, not just with ours and Elementor. For example if you install both Elementor and Beaver Builder or Visual Composer you won’t be able to edit a page with both builders.

This is normal behaviour – it would be impossible for our builder to be able to understand the code from any other builder out there.

You can still use Elementor or other builders but you have to edit a page only with the builder that created it. So if you create a page in the Customizer, edit it only in the Customizer. And if you create a page with Elementor, edit it only with Elementor. Cross-editing between the builders will break your pages.

If you break the page code you can try to use the revision feature in your WordPress Admin to rollback to a previous version of a your page.

To do that you need to go to WP Admin -> Pages -> YourPage ->Revisions.

Ok so… Unfortunately you can’t do anything to solve your issue…
