Conflict with Divi 4.10 and optimization options
-
Elegant Themes just released Divi 4.10.
After updating to the new version a couple things happened:
1) My CSS styles were not loading properly, evidenced by my header area turning to default color settings.
In an announcement post’s comments, I came across recommendations from Nick Roach for the following settings in Divi:
– Make sure you turn off Divi Theme Options > Builder > Output Styles Inline.
– Also, make sure you enable Divi Theme Options > Builder > Static CSS File Generation. In my case I just had to turn off Output Styles Inline, then my CSS styles loaded in properly.
2) Certain modules did not load in properly and there were error codes in Console. The SG support team checked for server side caching issues but nothing was detected or helped them load in better.
To fix the problem and allow modules to load in properly you have to disable Frontend Optimization settings > Combine Javascript Files.
My Speed Test went from 96 to 90. I realize this is not a significant loss but it shows there is an impact.
I am not entirely sure how disabling this may impact performance in the future, but at least it allows site to load properly and I don’t have to deactivate the plugin or switch to another solution.
I hope these recommendations help others who come across same issue after updates.
