Conflict with BetterDocs

  • We are having issues with BetterDocs and UAM working together. They have a system that shows instant answers in a little chat bubble. This feature is not working so we reached out to them for a fix. They told us the following:

    Thanks to you sharing your temporary login information, we were able to identify the issue.

    It was a plugin conflict issue you were facing. BetterDocs is in conflict with User Access Manager.
    This plugin is blocking our REST API, which is why you can’t see your search result. 

    Please check now, since we deactivated this plugin, the search bar is working perfectly. To resolve this issue permanently, you could use an alternative User Access Manager plugin or contact their support system. 

    Is there anyway we can fix this?

    Update: I was able to get their “Instant Answer” chat bot working but now it shows the title of the posts but the description says “Sorry you have no rights to view this” even though I am admin. No matter what group you are in it says that. https://imgur.com/a/6qJiDXB

    It seems that the permissions are being applied but if you have access to those posts then you still can’t view inside this chat bubble.

    The user which is requesting the data from the rest api must be a user with valid access rights. It seems that the BetterDocs plugin is using the rest api anonymous, so UAM restricts the access, which is the desired behavior, since other users could access your restricted data. So there is not much I can do about that.

    @gm_alex appreciate the message back on this and your time! We have tried many permission based plugins and yours works flawlessly and provides a working recursive file option which is awesome.

    I sent a message back to BetterDocs and hopefully they have a way to do so even if it were a snippet or something. It would be nice if they had an association option to associate permissions or something of that nature.
