    Hey Frank,

Got another issue I’m trying to resolve. I’m working on this site UHHM.org and trying to load in an HLS stream using the AMP Media Player. It seems as if the combination of Autoptimize, ASYNC JS, and the CriticalCSS add-on are affecting playback of the player. I’m not 100% sure which combination of them is affecting playback and wanted to know what you suggest keeping on and turning off. Or, what should I exclude to ensure the AMP player plays on mobile devices? It will play on desktop, but not on mobile when the three plugins are active. When I turn them off and refresh, the player plays for a little bit in mobile, but then reverts back to freezing. Do you have any suggestions?

Do I exclude azuremediaplayer.min.js? And, where should I exclude it? In Autoptimize or ASYNC JS?

Well, as a first step; does the player work when AsyncJS is off?

I checked with ASYNC on and Autoptimize On, it didn’t play. I turned off ASYNC, it didn’t play. I turned off Autoptimize, then it played. So I think it’s Autoptimize and not ASYNC.

OK, great. Now next step; does it work when AO is on but “optimize JavaScript” is off?

    Hey Frank,

I’m juggling content for the museum site and there was a recent promotion that prevented me from testing the theory because I didn’t want someone to visit the site and have the video not working on mobile after enabling the plugins but not having the settings correct. I’m working towards figuring this out today and I’ll report back shortly.

I edited the last comment to change my wording from “disabling” to “enabling” the plugin which would have broken the player again while people may have been trying to view the video on mobile.

It plays with Optimize Javascript unchecked (off) but does not play the audio, only the video for now. I’m trying to test that and see if it’s related.

Yeah…it does not play audio unless I turn of Autoptimize and ASYNC altogether.

let’s keep AsyncJS out of the picture for now and focus on AO settings? so with JS opt off in AO & AsyncJS off, the player works?

    Thread Starter Tony Zeoli

    (@tonyzeoli)

I have ASYNC off, Autoptimize ON, and Optimize Javascript OFF and the player is now working correctly.

You can check this video at https://uhhm.org/one-for-all on a mobile device.

OK, now when “optimize JS” is on, do you see JS errors on the browser console?

Sorry, it was the weekend and I’ve been away. I’ll check and respond tomorrow.
