All of the sudden I have a conflict when I upgraded to WP 4.9. There was a conflict with my theme also. Got that resolved. Now all of the sudden a conflict with Popular posts. I deactivated all of my plugins one at a time and found the glitch seems to be with popular posts. Even tried with another theme and reinstalled my current.

With it activated, my social media does not show up and everything below the popular post will not load. Only the text box of popular posts loads. It also will not let the admin bar load at the top of the page.

I was told by my theme folks it is a JS problem in the new upgrade of WP. They said 100,000 sites were affected they knew about. Yours dose say Not Compatible with 4.9

Please advise. I sure do like the plugin. Jon

    Hi there!

WPP runs just fine on WP 4.9, I’m using it on my site right now without issues. I just haven’t updated the “Tested up to” tag to 4.9 yet which WordPress uses to tell users if any given plugin has been tested on their WordPress version or not.

For some reason starting version 4.9 WordPress now labels all plugins that don’t have that tag set to 4.9 or higher as “incompatible” which really isn’t the case here or else this forum would be overflowing with “WPP doesn’t work on WordPress 4.9” messages by now (and as you can see it’s not, so don’t worry about it).

Now regarding your problem I’ll need some more info from you, so please:

    1. Go to Settings > WordPress Popular Posts and add &tab=debug to the URL in the address bar of your browser.
    2. Copy the info shown on the Debug screen and share it here so I can take a look.

Found out what it is Hector. If it is set to “last 30 days” It glitches. Any other setting it works fine. Will send you a debug report.

Just checked your site and everything seems to be loading normally to me.

Found out what it is Hector. If it is set to “last 30 days” It glitches. Any other setting it works fine.

That’s odd. That time range uses the exact same code as the rest of them (except for All time).

Set it to last 30 days again and let me know when you do so I can take another look.

Humm, just set it back to “30 days” and it loads OK today. I even switched browsers and rebooted my computer when it did it. It is now set back to 30 days. Must be a demon possessed it for a bit. LOL

It happens more often than you may believe ??

I’ll mark this as resolved then. Let me know if you need further help.

Hey Hector, It is doing it again right now. I will leave it as is so you can see what it is doing. Maybe it is my machine with just this domain.

Just checked your site again and didn’t see anything wrong with it. When it happens again, please open your browser’s console (if it’s Google Chrome, hit ctrl+shift+j) and look for error messages (usually displayed in red color). Take screenshots of them or copy them here so I can have a look.

It works in chrome, this time. Nothing comes up in that console. However in FireFox which is what I use I get this:

Also tried it on my Iphone and works OK. I guess it is a FIREFOX Glitch maybe? Just updated it to that Quantum 57.0

Sounds like an issue caused by one of your Firefox extensions. Disable them all and check your site again.

    • If it works normally again, then one of your extensions is causing the issue.
    • If it still breaks even with all of your extensions disabled, Firefox might be conflicting with a Javascript file on your site (or it might be broken / corrupted for some reason).
