    Hi,

I’m using the UserMetaPro plugin for user management. It comes with a functionality to reset password via frontend. If a user uses the password reset function, an email should be sent out. Recently this function is broken.

Talking to the UserMeta support they said:
    —-
It seems the plugin “WP Mail SMTP” is causing the issue.
This plugin prevents UMP to be triggered while the password reset function is called.
If you deactivate the “WP Mail SMTP” plugin, this should work alright.
But if you want to run both the plugin the conflict needs to be addressed then.

    Can you help, please?

    Thanks, Alex

    Any idea?
    Looking for a solution urgently.
    Thanks.

    Hi Alex,

I apologize for any inconvenience with this. We don’t have any known conflict with UserMetaPro plugin. I’ve tested with the free version of this plugin and the reset password emails are routed through WP Mail SMTP. If you could ask them more details on how WP Mail SMTP is preventing while the password reset function is called that would be helpful. We will also surely give a thought about this.

    Thanks!

    Hi @sanzeeb3,

I’m using the Pro version of User Meta.
Their support went on my web site to test and came back with the email above.

Their feedback about was that WP Mail SMTP prevents UMP to be triggered while the password reset function is called.

Of course I can ask them for more details.

    Best regards,
    Alex

    Hi @sanzeeb3 ,

no additional insight so far from the User Meta guys than what I provided above.
Any chance you can diagnose this directly on my site?

    Best regards,
    Alex

    Hi @sanzeeb3,

it’s definitely WP Mail SMTP that’s causing the problem. If I deactivate WP Mail SMTP, the Mails from User Meta work fine. So something within WP Mail SMTP seemingly blocks these emails.

I’m not using the freeware User Meta plugin, but the User Meta Pro version.

    Thanks for additional help.

    Best regards,
    Alex
